Another picture I found...

This is from Chris' wedding. I believe it was in Springfield, TN.
Murf said that he would try and follow the link I sent him and log on tonight.
Sorry, I didn't have time to clean up this scan, ironically, I'm on my way into Nashville this morning for a Photoshop conference :)

Carmen actually listened to my advice!!!

Actually, I think her mom did. Carmen, her sister Kim, their Mom and the 4 kids were going to head to the beach for the week. Their destination: Gulf Shores, AL or western FL panhandle. Guess who told 'em not to go!!! They are now safely playing in the beach south of Charleston, SC without the patriarchs of the 3 families.

Actually, I'm not jealous considering there are three adults with a couple of 3-3.5 year olds, an 18 month old, and a yearling.

If you have family or friends in the Gulf area, I hope they have already evacuated. Has anyone heard from Rob Fangay (sp?) over the last 8 years? He was there the last I heard.

If the storm hits N.O., farewell N.O. I read that it will be cheaper to build elsewhere than to try to rebuild that town. Where would the Saints play this year?!?

No deal – News from the HD DVD front line

Well, it doesn’t look good for a compromise between Blu-Ray ( Sony) and HD-DVD ( Toshiba and others ). The on again off again talks of a compromise had a late August deadline to decide something – anything – to make the Christmas season sales with cross platform products. But, the parties have trashed any hopes with their stubborn greedy arrogant stance that there can be only one “best product”

This is the beginning of a split in a technology path that our parents have seen once already. VHS – Betamax, here we go again.

My take is that Sony will market Blu-Ray ( the superior product ) to gaming console manufactors and computer storage markets where there is no cross platform standards to worry about because Microsoft and Macintosh will support both. Hollywood has already sided with HD-DVD because it knows that it can sell its HD catalog of product now and in less then 10 years it will again get to sell its entire collection of movies on a new disk format – mostly likely a form of holodisk.

This makes it really hard for authoring geeks like me – I have to guess who will win the marking battle and buy my tools accordingly. An expensive mistake if you choose the wrong side…

Mile High Formal '94

Here's a memory out of my scrapbook. I can say, I actually remember that moment - the rest of the night is foggy. :}

This is a test...

This Space For Rent. Your Message Here, CHEAP!

Recruit! Recruit!! RECRUIT!!!!!

Carmen sent this blog address to the Murphy family and the Palmer family via snail mail, since I am attrocious at keeping e-mail addy's. I'm assuming that Rob will pass it on to Bev... maybe to Bumper, since they play poker together on Thursdays (if his wife lets him go) at Andy Davis' house... It'll probably get to one-eyed Mike that way.

Anybody have Abe's e-mail? I know he's back on Signal Mountain...

Any other folks you can think of? I seem to remember one of you folks being in touch with Grain (Anthony)... What about Randy? Pepto, you're pretty much next door to him... "hook him up" with the address.

Pepto, you have moved, right?!?

Bars Open!

I’m going to try to do something a little different every couple weeks or so. Any suggestions?

TN Theta links

As I cruised the superhighway this morning, I found the following links.

Somebody tell Kelly his site is over 3 years out of date. You can still read about summer party 2002!

The undergrads appear to have a solid membership. How many of these guys are paying dues?

Any other interesting links floating out there?

As we age, there is something to keep in mind

Tattoos stretch and droop.

Gas prices! Whoa!

Why did we invade Iraq, again? Gas prices here in Columbus are up to 2.69/gallon. Just last week, gas was priced at 2.39/gallon. I thought we invaded Iraq to rape her of her natural resources... get to the oil siphoning already!

Getting Away

Well, Elizabeth and I left Zachary home for the first time last weekend. He stayed with her Mom for 2 whole nights. It was harder on me to be “without” him – he is always attached to my hip.
We went to a neat bed and breakfast in Louisville, KY. This was the first vacation we’ve really had since before she was pregnant. I wasn’t wild about the B and B thing before this but, we had a great time and I highly recommend it over staying at a hotel.

If you are interested...

A friend of mine from High School was kind enough to remind me of the last time I lost a fight. It's on my blog in the comments around the Prostate Surgery story.

blogger not keeping text of posts right now...

Tis fixed, obviously!

Let's start a new series: Whateverhappenedto...

Whatever happened to Matt Mundy?

Whatever happened to Jason Eaton?

Whatever happened to James Cares? What? Oh, nevermind... being eaten by wild cougars is a noble way to go.
